IrisAccess® iA1000

For over two decades, Iris ID has led the industry with proven, globally deployed iris recognition systems trusted in government, aviation, enterprise, and critical infrastructure. Building on this legacy, the IrisAccess® iA1000 series represents the next evolution in high-performance, multimodal identity authentication.

The iA1000 delivers fast, frictionless, and highly accurate identity verification through advanced iris-and-face fusion, powered by a next-generation optical system and an intuitive circular LCD interface. Certified Presentation Attack Detection (PAD) ensures trusted, secure, contactless authentication in any environment.

To protect our customers’ long-term investments, Iris ID is offering an iCAM 7S firmware upgrade, allowing existing deployments to benefit from enhanced capabilities and seamless coexistence with the iA1000 platform.

Managing the ecosystem is iAMS, a modern, web-based management platform built for scalable, multi-site deployments. With REST API integration, real-time monitoring, device activation, and streamlined user management, iAMS provides a unified, efficient way to operate all iA1000 readers—and, with the firmware update, the global base of iCAM 7S devices.

Together, iA1000 and iAMS deliver the future of secure, convenient, and enterprise-ready biometric authentication.

Compatibility – Can existing iCAM 7S cameras be integrated with the new iA1000 units?

Yes. The iA1000 and iCAM 7S can operate together. iCAM 7S units will require a firmware update, provided to customers who purchase the iA1000 and iAMS software to be installed in the existing infrastructure.

Database – Do the iA1000 and iCAM 7S share the same database structure, or is migration required?

The iA1000 uses a modern, web-enabled software platform with a different database structure. Iris ID provides a migration tool to transfer all enrollment data from EAC to iAMS.

Customers may also operate both systems (iCAM 7S/EAC and iA1000/iAMS) on the same network for a transition period. This allows for gradual migration, proper user training, and verification of data integrity before full cutover.

EAC Support – Does the iA1000 work with the existing EAC used for iCAM 7S?

The iA1000 cannot operate with the EAC software. A migration from the EAC database to iAMS is required, and Iris ID provides a migration tool to convert the EAC database into the iAMS format.

As noted above, customers may run both systems – iCAM 7S with EAC and iA1000 with iAMS – on the same network during a transition period. This approach supports phased migration, enables proper user training, and allows customers to validate data integrity before completing the full cutover.

Licensing – If customers move to the iA1000, do they need to buy new EAC or user licenses?

No, not until June 2026. Customers purchasing the iA1000 and iAMS may continue using their existing EAC licenses during this transition period at no additional cost. Iris ID will announce formal pricing for iAMS in mid-2026, and we will continue to honor all existing EAC license holders with a free upgrade path to iAMS.

Mixed Deployment – Can iCAM 7S and iA1000 devices run together in the same environment?

Yes. With the updated firmware, iCAM 7S devices can operate alongside iA1000 units within the iAMS platform.

If the customer needs to maintain both EAC and iAMS during a transition period before full cutover, the iCAM 7S can continue to be managed by EAC until the migration is fully completed.

Models – What Models are the available iA1000?

Iris ID currently offers two iA1000 models:

  • iA1000-WPN (Wi-Fi + PoE, no smartcard)
  • iA1000-WPH (Wi-Fi + PoE + smartcard)

A Wi-Fi–disabled version (requested by corporate security teams) is in development. Pricing will match the WPH/WPN models. Please contact our business development representative for pricing.
