iCAM TD200

Dual Capture Handheld System

Built for Rugged Environments

Iris ID has been producing commercial iris recognition systems since 1997, and today IrisAccess® authenticates more people in more locations than all other iris platforms combined. This unmatched experience is fully embodied in the iCAM TD200; a next-generation handheld solution engineered to deliver fast, accurate, and effortless multimodal identity authentication.

Earlier handheld iris systems required subjects to remain still and cooperate extensively in order to capture high-quality biometric images. The iCAM TD200 eliminates these limitations. Iris ID’s advanced algorithms enable high-quality iris capture even while the user or device is in motion, dramatically simplifying the operator’s job and reducing the need for technical expertise. Operators can capture biometrics quickly, confidently, and consistently, in most challenging real-world environments.

The iCAM TD200 supports both iris and face capture, simultaneously or independently, based on operational requirements. A single touch initiates the entire process. The device’s custom-designed optical system works seamlessly with its high-speed, multi-sensor imaging array to automatically acquire, process, and output ISO-compliant left and right iris images along with a high-quality color face image, all in a single shot and in under two seconds as the subject naturally approaches the optimal capture distance.

To support field mobility and distributed operations, the iCAM TD200 is designed with USB interface for easy integration into portable enrollment kits, providing unmatched location flexibility. Whether used in fixed installations, mobile stations, or remote pop-up enrollment environments, the iCAM TD200 allows organizations to extend biometric enrollment and identification capabilities wherever they are needed.
The result is a compact, rugged, and highly intuitive handheld platform that delivers the industry’s most reliable mobile identity authentication, anywhere, anytime, without compromising speed, security, or user convenience.

Image Capture Process

Fully automatic concurrent dual iris and face image capture is supported with the iCAM TD200. Iris and face images are collected virtually at the same time. The quality analysis routines ensure all images are ISO-compliant and are available as part of the iData Iris SDK for the field application of the iCAM TD200. An illustration of the iris capture UI screen is shown below. Iris ID’s iData Iris SDK runtime license for iris enrollment and quality assessment is available for use with the iCAM TD200.

The face capture API function is included in the SDK.

  • The integrated framing function provides feedback for capturing a properly formatted ISO-compliant face image.
  • Manual face capture with autofocus is also possible through the camera API provided by the Device Control SDK.
  • Application developers can also use host-based face detection to trigger face capture automatically from the host processor.
  • Face capture can be initiated through the API or via the shutter button on the iCAM TD200.
  • Sample illustrations of face capture modes are shown below.

iData iCAM TD200 SDK

Iris ID provides a comprehensive API SDK that enables full functionality of both the iCAM TD100 and iCAM TD200. The SDK development environment is designed to closely mirror the widely deployed iData SDK, ensuring consistency and ease of use. Developers already familiar with Iris ID’s APIs will find integration with the TD200 straightforward and efficient.

Sample Application Source Code

The SDK package includes complete sample application source code for the reference GUI, helping developers accelerate integration and testing. Sample code is provided in both C++ and C#, offering flexibility across development environments.

Demonstration Application

A runtime-only application is available for customer evaluation, providing functionality for iris and face image capture, as well as iris template matching.
